Observations about the trays
Burpee -
-- love the planting medium. easy to get started. easy to to move medium around from one to the other if necessary.
-- don't like the lid. it lips to the outside and therefore drips to the outside. hard to water without disturbing the seeds
Jiffy -
-- likes -- easy to water without disturbing the medium. preferable lid as it drains to the inside
-- not so likes. the medium was labor intensive as you have to cut each planter. the condensation on the lid is odd. a middle 1/4th is not condensating like the rest. odd. just plain odd.

the seeds have started
We started planting seeds today.
The top tray has onions, eggplant, and beefsteak tomatoes.
The bottom has broccoli and peppers and room for more seeds! Which of course means a trip to the garden center tomorrow. Oh darn my bad luck. LOL
All seeds planted today were courtesy of the Home Depot in Papillion. Trays are Burpee(top) and Jiffy (bottom) Seeds are all Burpee brand because Jim is too impatient to wait for the SSE order to get here. We bought organic for what we could (tomatoes, peppers, and some scallions and herbs we haven't started). The others were conventional. So much for our 100% organic plan for this season.
But hey! We have seeds started!
